What changed
Google began the December 2024 core update on 12 December, only a week after the November core update completed, and finished it on 18 December. At six days it was one of the shortest core update rollouts recorded. Google gave no explanation for the rapid succession beyond its standard guidance, and it was followed days later by a spam update.
