It ran for 45 days, from 5 March to 19 April 2024, and Google said it expected a 40% reduction in unhelpful, unoriginal content in results. The helpful content system ceased to exist as a separate classifier and its signals became part of core ranking. Google warned that ranking could fluctuate more than usual during the unusually long rollout.
