What changed
Comet is a browser with an integrated agent that can browse, summarise and act across sites without the user visiting pages directly. It launched in July 2025 for top-tier subscribers and became freely available in October 2025. Agentic browsing raises new questions for publishers about analytics, advertising and bot identification, because agent traffic can be indistinguishable from human traffic at the request level. Rollout began 1 July 2025. No completion date was announced. Rankings typically remain unstable for the whole rollout window, so measurements taken inside it are not a reliable read on the outcome.
